It started out in 2003 as two Aussies saying that moustaches had gone out of fashion and how they could bring them back.
Now Movember is a worldwide campaign which raised nearly £80 million for men’s health charities last year.
Today ‘Mo Bros’ across the city will go clean shaven and hone their muzzies for November.
The charity campaign aims to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer, which killed more than 10,000 men in the UK in 2010.
As Movember’s founders say: “It was started by mates and will forever stay true to mateship, fun, laughter and celebration.”
Groups across the city will be sporting muzzies throughout the month, remembering lost relatives and building awareness.
Merseyside four-piece band Mervin Gersh are as known for their moustaches as they are for their music.
So in a bid to raise awareness the band took part in ‘The Big Shave’ yesterday, and will be posting pics of their ’taches as they grow.
The group said they are “scared and excited” to reveal their top lips to fans.
Goals South in Speke Boulevard are also hosting 5-a-side football tournament where teams can unleash their inner John Aldridge and Graeme Souness.
